As the first round of Early Decision (ED) applications for the Class of 2025 wraps up and with our Senior Halfway Lunch this week, the International School of Beijing (ISB) is happy to share results that show a promising start of our students receiving acceptances to their best fit universities and colleges.
A total of 56 ED applications were submitted this year, representing 50.4% of the Class of 2025—a significant increase from the previous year, where 37 applications were submitted, making up 37.3% of the Class of 2024. While the data for this year is still being refined, the increase in both the percentage of students applying for ED and the increased admission rate compared to last school year is a positive sign of the growing success of our early applicants. This year’s Early Decision round has shown notable success, with 17 students (30.3%) admitted to their first-choice schools.
For students in the Class of 2025, Early Decision applications have resulted in offers from a diverse range of top universities and colleges:
ISB and our University and Careers Advising (UCA) team emphasize to our students that finding the best possible university match for each student remains the most critical factor in the college decision process. With more than 20 students having already received offers from their top-choice schools, it’s evident the dedication and hard work of our applicants and UCA team.
This year’s Early Decision round has been a tremendous success for our students. The efforts and accomplishments of the Class of 2025 are a testament to the dedication of both the students and our complementary counseling model. As we move further into Semester 2, it’s important to note that this is only a fraction of the admission decisions we will receive. So moving forward, we are excited to see what further success the remainder of the admissions cycle will bring for all of our students.
ISB prepares our students for achievements and success for whatever future direction they may choose. As we continue through the application season, this snapshot of data offers a glimpse of the successes our students are achieving. Our UCA team will continue to track acceptance data so that we may better serve our students.
