This week, the International School of Beijing (ISB)’s High School (HS) have been on experiential education trips, meant to challenge students, as well as encourage them to serve and explore their community. This year, there were so many trips to choose from, including Serve ELOs, Explore ELOs and Challenge ELOs. Below are just some of the examples.

Serve ELOs

Sustainable Fashion Runway: Students learned about sustainable fashion and designed their own fashion brand/line using offcuts and reclaimed/recycled materials.

Wild Solutions: Students learned about the most pressing social and environmental challenges we face today.

Explore ELOs

A Feast of Expression: Food connects us to our own heritages, and to the environment and earth. On this ELO trip, students learned about food writing through the medium of cooking, baking, visiting fresh markets and farms, and tasting food. Students had the opportunities to read and to turn their hand to a variety of food writing: including recipes, feature articles, interviews, memoirs, personal essays, short stories, poetry, and scripts for podcasts and short videos.
