“To know that we’ve brought happiness to the audience is a really great thing. Working together with my classmates and collaborating is also very fun.” Cellist Naomi from Grade 7 hit the high notes when asked to explain the appeal of making music at the International School of Beijing (ISB).
Naomi was among the roughly 150 Middle and High School musicians who have just impressed at ISB’s annual Winter Strings Concert. The MS/HS Winter Band Concert is on December 3 and the Winter Choir Concert is on December 10. This is one of the best times of year for ISB community members to enjoy the work of talented performing artists from all grades. The Elementary School’s Ensemble Concert is on December 5, and the ES Dragon Wind Band will play off campus on December 1.
For the students, these shows are the culmination of months of challenging and joyful learning as they rehearse in ISB’s world-class performing arts facilities with their expert teachers. Click the video link below for a look at what ISB students learn through music and why community members should come see their shows.
ISB community members interested in catching the upcoming Elementary, Middle, and High School concerts should check the ISB Weekly newsletter and Calendar for full details.
The challenging and joyful learning experienced by these musicians is one of three main Strategic Focus Areas for ISB. Many of our news articles and videos like this one look at aspects of ISB that are examples of the three Focus Areas. To find out more, click here.
