First week of 2021 - 2022 in pictures

A new academic year is underway at the International School of Beijing (ISB)! Last Wednesday saw the doors thrown after Summer Break. As student buses rolled onto the parking lot and new and returning students set foot once again on ISB’s beautiful campus, there was plenty of excited chatter and renewing of friendships.
The students were greeted by favorite teachers and many new faces, with ISB having added more highly qualified, passionate educators to its faculty and support staff for 2021-2022.
The school looks better than ever. In addition to the major new facilities opened last academic year, a lot of sprucing up took place over summer. The Elementary School (ES) Cafeteria and Middle School/High School Cafeteria have both been refurbished, and anyone climbing the ES staircase or pausing in the reception area will get a breath of fresh air – literally – thanks to living green walls. Green walls are vertical structures covered in plants for their healthy, environmental qualities.
A lot of work has gone into preparing learning programs to engage and inspire from day one, and ISB’s coaches wasted no time in getting students back onto volleyball courts and baseball diamonds for co-curricular sports.
ISB also held its fourth Teacher Recruitment Fair at the end of last week. This year’s event identified a lot of fresh talent to ensure that scenes like those playing out over the past few days will continue at ISB long into the future.
ISB is an extraordinary school, made so by a tradition of educational excellence spanning 40 years. Establishing, nurturing, and growing such an exceptional learning community has been and remains intentional; we work hard to build strong relationships so our learning is at its best.
